Magazine research

For this task we had to analyse different magazines to see how they advertise digipaks.
We analysed two magazine, Uncut and Classiz Rock.

MAGAZINE 1:
As we can see, a single sleeved digipak containing a CD is places at the bottom left of the magazines front cover. This is different to some magazines that I've seen contain digipaks on certain pages inside the magazines. Personally, I think having the digipak on the front cover is more effective than having it on the inside because it becomes more noticeable and eye-catching.

The digipak follows a similar colour scheme to the magazine, which involves blue, yellow and white. The only difference is that the digipaks title is white, instead of the magazines blue title. I think this is effective because, although it follows a similar colour scheme, it still stands out to the buyer and does a good job of advertising the product to it's chosen audience.

In addition to the digipak on the front cover, this magazine also has a whole page advertising a load of digipaks from various artists. This is also a good method of advertisement because it lets the reader browse all the products and receive the information needed e.g. price, where to buy, artist etc.

MAGAZINE 2:

Straight away we can see that the Classic Rock magazine also has a digipak positioned on the front cover. Just like the last magazine, this digpak has a similar colour scheme to the magazine, for the same reason for why the Uncut magazine did it.
The digipak clearly has those colours that are usually related to classic rock, which is good because it means that it is a useful advertising mechanic when advertising to the classic rock loving audience.
